Battle for Efficiency
2013

“Battle for Efficiency” by Alexey Fedoseev and Boris Karabanov is a practical guide to managing business performance, based on results-oriented budgeting. The book teaches how to connect all enterprise processes into a unified system to increase competitiveness and overcome crises and resource constraints.
Process of creation

“Battle for Efficiency” teaches how to achieve maximum profit with minimal costs. Together with the authors, we at the Design Bureau created a book that is not only engaging to read but also visually appealing.

To achieve this, it was not enough to simply create illustrations and neat layouts. We needed to deeply engage with the ideas in the authors’ manuscript and reinterpret them from a design perspective.

The book contains nearly 150 spreads, three quarters of which include illustrations — no two are the same.

In the book’s design, we used imagery familiar to a business audience: sketches on a board, notes in the margins, and various office-related objects. Thanks to printing on specially textured paper, the illustrations truly look hand-drawn.

Each illustration was drawn by hand on paper, scanned, colored digitally, and then laid out.
